Images 1-7: ”Laton World Encampment” is the result of a three-month workshop with a core group of high school youth, culminating in a temporary sculpture park. Each participant created a version of their own ‘self portrait as space’ sculpture which were then assembled in an empty lot on the main street of Laton (pop. 1200) for the main event / town procession. Component of large-scale, collaborative work “Reunion / Reunión” led by Suzanne Lacy in the Central Valley of California.“Art in Rural Contexts” initiative through the Ford Foundation and Urban Institute.
